At TasteMaker, we love vinegar. And we’re on a crusade
to share that love with New Zealand and the world.

For the founders of TasteMaker growing up in the ‘70s, kiwi salads were about iceberg lettuce, grated carrot, hard-boiled egg and a liberal splash of condensed milk mayo made with good old malt vinegar. Not the most glamorous of eats, but that mayo was a definite winner.

We believe great vinegar can always create these kinds of indelible food memories. It’s the flavour lurking in the background that turns ordinary taste into something fantastic.

Soup. Salad. Chicken. Lamb. Beef. Fish n’ chips. Fish by itself. Fish with other stuff. Pork. Seafood. Pickles. Chutneys. Sauces. Glazes. Marinades. Bread. Pasta. Oils. Ice cream. Desserts. Cheese. Fruit. Berries.

Bored by this list? Just add vinegar. A restrained application of one of TasteMaker’s specialty products elevates a surprising range of ingredients into the realms of great taste.

Make it, taste it, love it – with TasteMaker, made in New Zealand with no artificial flavours or colours, just good taste and care.

Millions of litres of vinegar are used each year in New Zealand. It’s there, quietly lurking in the background of a surprising number of supermarket and specialty products, the unsung hero adding depth of flavour and tasty goodness to everything from soups to desserts.

Despite its pervasive presence, vinegar sometimes gets a bad rap. It’s not the cool cousin. It’s most likely the grumpy uncle — a necessary part of the family, but not the greatest fun at Sunday lunch.

We want that to change. At TasteMaker we love vinegar and we want to share that love, and the limitless possibilities of vinegar, with the world.

We’ve spent many years developing and refining TasteMaker to a point where we believe our vinegars are among the best available anywhere. Using the best of local ingredients and international knowledge, our products are manufactured in New Zealand to exacting standards.

New Zealand has some of best grains and grapes found anywhere, and we’re crafting them into some of the world’s best vinegars. Locally-made means we don’t have to ship our vinegar from the other side of the world, so no elephant-sized carbon footprint.

Grapes, apples, berries, figs, honey and grains are selected for their great taste and ability to transform into great vinegar.

That’s probably all you need to know about us and what we do. We believe our vinegars speak for themselves. So if you want to know more, try them.
